This program is delivered in partnership with the Institute of Career Development (ICD). The curriculum and highly qualified instructors are provided by ICD and vetted by the UC Davis School of Law. ICD also provides the digital learning environment.
Stefanie V. Plaumann, J.D., has been practicing law in state and federal courts for over 23 years. She spent her early career representing federal defendants in complex criminal matters, including federal death penalty cases. For the past 18 years, she has focused on a combination of federal criminal defense and commercial litigation. Stefanie is a savvy litigator with a love of writing, research and crafting innovative arguments in support of her clients. She has been teaching at the higher education level in both classroom and online settings for over 15 years. She earned her bachelor’s degrees in English and German language and literature from Smith College and her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. Emily Doringer, J.D., is a senior associate attorney for Segal & Associates, PC. She specializes in white collar criminal defense, appellate advocacy and representation during civil business fraud investigations. Michael J. Pocchia, J.D., is a practicing attorney with over 30 years of legal experience in both civil and criminal litigation. He has been a professor of Legal Studies for over 22 years, lecturing in colleges, business schools and corporations throughout the United States in both classroom and online programs. He completed his undergraduate studies at The Johns Hopkins University and The London School of Economics and Political Science and received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. Michael is admitted to practice law in the United States District Courts and the United States Supreme Court. He is a frequent invited speaker at national conferences and forums to discuss recent trends in child support administrative and judicial enforcement.
