Wondering how to combine your passion for art and creative expression with your interest in science? This course offers a sneak peek into the exciting ways art and science merge and the unique careers available.
 
This immersive two-week pre-college course is designed for high school students eager to explore advanced topics in medicine, neuroscience and health care through the lens of art and creative expression. Students explore how graphic design and art can be used to educate the community about brain health and disease, and learn about the exciting field of medical art. This program bridges the gap between high school education and the college-level understanding of medical sciences while fostering community engagement and teamwork.
 
What You Can Expect:
  • Interactive Learning: Dive into fascinating medical topics, including neurosciences, brain diseases (such as strokes and neurodegenerative disorders) and medical art, through engaging lectures, quizzes and interactive games.
  • Creative Collaboration: Work with peers and student artists to develop an educational message about a specific medical or healthcare topic. Transform this message into a custom graphic design for a skateboard deck, merging scientific understanding with artistic creativity.
  • Professional Insights: Gain exposure to unique career paths in health care and medical art, helping you shape your educational journey with focus and purpose.

Total Program cost: $6,985

An initial payment of $1500 will be required during enrollment to hold your place in the program.

Final payments are due by 5:00 pm (PST) May 1, 2025
