UC Davis Per-College Program: Boards 'N Brains (Session 1)

For the artistic mind…

The Boards N Brains (BNB) program is created to provide exposure to advanced topics in medicine/healthcare for high school students through exploring art. The BNB serves to fill a gap in medical/healthcare knowledge for high school students due to a lack of, or access to, experiences and/or resources. The program will introduce high school students to advanced topics in medicine/healthcare, such as those seen at college level and beyond, building upon their foundational knowledge acquired in high school.

Through the BNB, students will create their own educational message about a specific medical/healthcare topic to educate their local community, and beyond. Students from diverse disciplines will learn to work collaboratively to produce a unified message to the community, fostering teamwork and problem-solving skills contributing to their growth beyond high school. Students will learn about potential unique career paths in healthcare and art before starting college, giving them the opportunity for a focused path in college and beyond.
