Kayak Expedition at Lake Natoma

Enjoy a beginner-friendly kayak adventure at Sacramento’s Lake Natoma, led by expert instructors from the Sac State Aquatic Center. Learn paddling techniques in a supportive setting designed especially for first-time kayakers. After your session on the water, relax and enjoy a hosted lunch with fellow participants in a scenic, summer-friendly environment.

The Aquatic Center is a regional boating safety hub funded by the California Department of Boating and Waterways, committed to statewide education, safety, and recreation.

All fees are non-refundable and may be transferred no later than August 11 to another ADULT participant if you are unable to attend. No participants under age 18 allowed.

This is an outdoor, physical activity. Participants must be able to enter and exit a kayak with minimal assistance and follow all safety directions from Aquatic Center staff. Personal flotation devices (PFDs), safety equipment, and on-water instruction will be provided. Signed waivers are required from all participants.

Please note that OLLI staff are unable to provide personal care assistance on field trips. If you require assistance with walking, climbing stairs, or other support, please plan to enroll a personal caregiver who can attend to those needs throughout the trip.

Box lunches from Nugget Markets will be provided following the paddle session.

Parking location and participant check-in instructions will be emailed one week prior to the event.

OLLI Summer 2025 membership is required ($15 Summer membership fee covers all courses and trips this summer).

Enrollment Policies

COURSE FEES FOR THIS FIELD TRIP ARE NOT REFUNDABLE AFTER YOU HAVE ENROLLED.

If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your purchase to another ADULT (age 18 or older) through August 11. After that date, no transfers are allowed and all fees are forfeit to OLLI. Contact olli@ucdavis.edu if you need to request a transfer.

All participants must complete the required waiver forms. Anyone without a signed waiver will not be permitted to participate. PFDs, safety equipment, and instruction will be provided. Student credit may not be applied to this event.
