Cinematic Studies of Abortion and Adoption

This course explores two recent French films directed by women, including Happening (2021) and In Safe Hands (2018), that examine the complex experiences surrounding abortion and adoption. With a focus on cultural context and personal agency, the films offer a nuanced, objective lens on the social and emotional challenges faced by women navigating reproductive decisions.
