Sponsored Activity Reaches New Heights
CPE garnered $19 million in external funding in fiscal year 2017-2018, raising the organization's overall sponsored program commitments to more than $34 million. This funding supports training and evaluation services for local, state and federal agencies in the workforce development arena.
Our newest project is a cooperative agreement with the US EPA to educate the medical community on how to prevent, recognize and treat pesticide-related health conditions. This newest award is an expansion of our work in pesticide education, which also includes leading The Pesticide Educational Resource Collective (PERC). PERC is a partnership between CPE, Oregon State University and the Environmental Protection Agency, and it has trained thousands of applicators and handlers on the safe use of pesticides in agricultural, commercial and residential settings.
Current multi-year grants administered by CPE include:
- $8.6 million – Environmental Protection Agency (Pesticide education)
- $1.5 million – California Department of Education (Family childcare provider education)
- $20.3 million – California Department of Social Services (Child welfare and related programs)
- $3.5 million – State Water Resources Control Board (Environmental and technical water education)
