Student Spotlight: Lori Roberts Smith and Tim Zindorf
Lori Roberts Smith and Tim Zindorf completed the Professional Coaching for Life and Work Certificate in December 2018. Longtime friends, Smith and Zindorf live near Washington, D.C. with their families. While traveling cross-country every other week to attend the five-month program initially seemed liked a challenge, it soon turned into an adventure. Prior to enrolling, Smith did extensive research to find the best coaching program to meet their needs.

- Program prepares students for certification by the International Coach Federation (ICF)
She said having the program at a university was an important consideration. “I knew that it was going to be a high-quality program because it was associated with a world-recognized institution.” Smith was impressed by the collective package, from the instructors and well-outlined curriculum to built-in clients and mentors. In addition to developing valuable coaching skills, Zindorf said he gained self-awareness and confidence, while developing trust with his instructors and peers in the program.
Smith added that the purposeful choice to have a diverse cohort meant she was ready to meet anyone anywhere.
"We had a diverse cohort of people from all walks of life, origins of birth, different countries, different original languages, income levels and interests. To be able to experience real human connection at a soul level and know that we could connect and change the world together, solidified a deep and lasting belief of mine. It is by far the greatest thing I gained.”
