Career Education Has a New Address

UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education Moves its Classrooms to One Capitol Mall

Starting July 15th, the Sacramento classrooms of UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education (formerly UC Davis Extension) will be moving from the Sutter Square Galleria in midtown to the heart of the city – One Capitol Mall in Downtown Sacramento. The move is the result of a region-wide search for classroom space that addresses the unique educational needs of working professionals.

“One Capitol Mall is an iconic location,” said Susan Catron, dean of UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education. “It reflects the energy and vision of Sacramento and inspires achievement. It’s perfect for teaching the working professionals we serve.”

As the former home of the UC Davis Graduate School of Management’s Sacramento Part-Time MBA program and Drexel University’s Sacramento campus, One Capitol Mall is well-suited and configured for classroom use. The University of San Francisco retains space in the building as well.

In addition to its central location, the building offers upgraded student amenities (including a snack bar), on-site security and convenient parking. Students will have exclusive use dedicated parking spaces split between the building's two on-site garages.

UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education classes are planning to be held at the Galleria until Saturday, July 13th and after that will transfer to One Capitol Mall. Classes held at other locations, including on the UC Davis campus, will be unaffected by the move.

The move is part of a long-term transition for UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education, which will be an anchor tenant at Aggie Square, UC Davis’ Sacramento technology and innovation campus, when it opens. The organization has maintained classrooms at the Galleria since March, 1996. Prior to that classes were held at Sacramento’s Downtown Plaza.
