This summer pre-college program is more than a summer camp. Students are expected to come prepared to be engaged and display a high degree of maturity and responsibility. Our future doctors will work with a partner, research a topic of their choice and present their findings at our Closing Ceremony to faculty and parents. Moreover, participants are equipped with hands-on opportunities beyond our classroom walls to suture and cast with students currently working in the field, get a chance to visit medical facilities and even chat with undergraduate admissions representatives about their experiences! By exploring different perspectives, engaging in fun, hands-on activities and taking part in a culminating research project, this program will instill a sense of direction that will push you to develop into a practical and confident pre-medical student.
On top of everything else we have planned, you will gain insight into the life of a college student by living on campus for two weeks!
What do you say? Are you up for the challenge? Your instructor, a seasoned UC Davis professional in medical school advising, will tell you all you need to know about the fulfilling road to becoming a doctor.
Note: This program is designed for students entering 10th grade through students graduating 12th grade. Due to difficulty of material, this course is not recommended for incoming 9th graders.
