With acres growing apples, peaches, pluots, grapes, cherries, nectarines and more, Steve and Robin Smit have worked hard to build their reputation of family and wholesome organic farming. On our visit, we’ll learn how to pick the perfect fruit and gain a better understanding of organic farming in a personal tour. We’ll also stop for a no-host lunch at a local restaurant, beautifully situated at the Wine and Roses retreat and gardens before making our return trip to Davis.
Note: Participants must be prepared to walk unassisted on rough and uneven ground. The tour will require standing in place for extended periods of discussion. Please wear sturdy, comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate to the weather. Directions for bus loading and additional details will be provided via email one week in advance of the tour.
