Gain an introduction to the botany and physiology of grapevine water relations, methods of plant water status measurements, micro-irrigation system design and irrigation scheduling for red and white wine grape cultivars. Learn how the grapevine takes up water and moves it through its different organs, as well as how plant water status is assessed using traditional and proximal or remote-sensing methods. Study micro-irrigation system design in depth for correct sizing of vineyard irrigation systems. Examine irrigation scheduling for weather-based, plant-based and sensing-based grapevine coefficient calculations to derive applied water amounts. You will also gain hands-on experience in measurements and investigating remotely or proximally charged data streams to schedule irrigation.
