OLLI Almond Expedition

Capay Canyon Ranch is a family-run almond farm near Esparto, California. Their integrated approach of farming, handling and marketing offers California almonds of the highest quality to a global market. We’ll tour their hulling, shelling and pasteurization plant with owner Leslie Barth, followed by a guided stroll of the orchards before our return to Davis.

Course fees are non-refundable.  Parking and bus pick up location will be emailed one week in advance of the trip date. Course fees will be refunded ONLY if the host must cancel our date or if OLLI cancels the trip due to low enrollment. Email olli@ucdavis.edu for more in-depth questions before registering.

This trip requires periods of distance walking on uneven terrain and standing in place for extended periods of group discussion. Please wear sturdy, comfortable walking or athletic shoes to accommodate your individual needs. Participants are encouraged to dress in layers appropriate to their personal comfort and weather conditions.

Please note that OLLI staff are unable to provide personal care assistance on the field trips. If you require assistance with walking, climbing steps or stairs, boarding the bus or personal care, please plan to enroll a personal caregiver who can attend to those needs throughout the trip.
