Olive Oil: Diving in with Selina Wang

Olive oil is one of the most valuable edible oils, celebrated for its flavor and healthy fats. In week one (via Zoom), Professor Wang will discuss the chemical and sensory qualities of olive oil. In week two, we’ll bus over to IL Fiorello Orchards near Fairfield to explore growing, processing, tasting and a plated group lunch.

Course fees are non-refundable.  Parking and bus pick up location will be emailed one week in advance of the trip date. Course fees will be refunded ONLY if the host site must cancel our date or if OLLI cancels the trip due to low enrollment. Email olli@ucdavis.edu for more in-depth questions before registering.

This trip requires periods of distance walking and standing in place for extended periods of group discussion. Please wear sturdy, comfortable walking or athletic shoes to accommodate your individual needs.

Please note that OLLI staff are unable to provide personal care assistance on the field trips. If you require assistance with walking, climbing steps or stairs, boarding the bus or personal care, please plan to enroll a personal caregiver who can attend to those needs throughout the trip.
