This course emphasizes a practical, problem solving approach to ergonomics for computer users. Multiple office situations are discussed, including:
- Multiple monitors
- Sitting vs. standing work stations
- Accommodations for special needs
- The “traveling office”
- Common desktop setups
Review musculoskeletal risk factors, control strategies to reduce or eliminate those risk factors, anthropometrics, and measuring and evaluating work sites. This course is highly beneficial for those responsible for performing internal ergonomic evaluations and/or providing employee ergonomics training. This is an elective course in the Workplace Health and Safety Certificate Program.
Recommended Prerequisite: Those with a limited ergonomics background would benefit by first taking the course Ergonomics in the Workplace.
